Our network is profoundly saddened by the passing of our dear colleague, Dr Sara Magrini. Beyond her remarkable professionalism, Sara embodied a true passion for plant conservation that inspired everyone around her. She served as President of RIBES - the Italian Network of Seed Banks - until 2024, headed the Germplasm Bank at the University of Tuscia, and was a dedicated member of the Orchid Specialist Group of the IUCN Species Survival Commission.
Sara’s tireless commitment and vision have left a lasting mark on our community and on the broader field of conservation. She will be remembered not only for her scientific contributions but also for the warmth, kindness, and encouragement she so often shared.
We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues, and hold her memory with great respect and affection. Her legacy will continue to guide and inspire our work.
